Community Farm Alliance Announces 2026 Kentucky Double Dollars Launch to Expand Access to Fresh, Local Food Across Kentucky

Berea, KY — May 7, 2026 — Community Farm Alliance (CFA) is proud to announce the KY Double Dollars 2026 launch, bringing expanded access to fresh, locally grown food for families across Kentucky while supporting farmers and local economies.

KY Double Dollars is a statewide nutrition incentive program that aims to make healthy, locally grown food more affordable for low-income families while simultaneously boosting the income of Kentucky farmers. Shoppers using SNAP, Summer EBT/SUN Bucks, WIC Farmers Market Nutrition, and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Benefits receive additional funds to spend at participating farmers markets, farm stands, and grocery stores at over 100 locations across the state.

For example, for every $1 spent from a customer’s SNAP EBT card at a participating location, the customer will receive an additional $1 in “Double Dollars” to spend on fresh vegetables and fruit. Many locations also offer Double Dollars for meat, eggs, and dairy products that are produced by Kentucky farms, providing a maximum benefit of $20 per day.

With an expanded network of participating locations and community partners, KY Double Dollars aims to reach more residents than ever before, particularly in underserved and rural areas.

“KY Double Dollars supports community, health, and economic resilience,” said Lauren Kallmeyer, CFA’s KY Double Dollars Director.  “By making fresh, nutritious food more affordable and accessible, we’re investing in the well-being of Kentucky families while also supporting our local farmers.”

Key Highlights of the 2026 Launch:

  • Expanded participation at over 100 locations across the state –   farmers markets, farm stands, and grocery stores;
  • Increased access for low-income Kentuckians to fresh fruits, vegetables;
  • Strengthened partnerships with local farmers and community organizations; and
